#16276 The Works (Novels & Dramas) of Honoré De Balzac: Lutetian Edition
George Saintsbury, Editor, published by Henry W Knight, New York, 1901. Hardcover.

This is a complete set of 36 volumes, each with its original red cloth cover and paper title on the spine in gold and black. Gilt is intact on the top of each page; sides and bottoms are uncut. The red-annotated tissue guards are in place in all volumes. This Lutetian Edition is #833 of 1,000. Condition of the covers varies from good to fair, with some shelf damage and various amounts of wear evident depending on which volume. Detailed pictures are available upon request.

#13300 Victorian "Theorem" featuring a bouquet of roses. Protected by its original frame and original glass. The roses featured in this picture are painted many shades of red, from a very deep red to a pale pink. The leaves are a shades of green, with some tending toward browns, and the stems below the roses are a variety of browns. The Theorem is initialed "A P S" on the lower right between two leaves. Minor signs of wear with little to no foxing.
Size: Framed: 19 3/4" H x 18" W x 1" D. Theorem measures 15 5/8" H x 13 7/8" W.

#13448 Lithograph titled “Battle Monument, Baltimore.” Below the title appears "Vol. II. page 419." which may indicate that this lithograph was taken from a book. The mat edge is beveled, and the mat has both a light pink and a light gold border outlining the lithograph.

#13455 Framed and matted engraving titled “Battle Monument, Baltimore.” Printed circa 1840. The following comments are printed immediately below the illustration:

The mat edge is beveled and surrounds the illustration and writing on the engraving very closely. The reverse has a label from David Bendann's, Fine Art Rooms, 105 East Baltimore St,, Baltimore, numbered 15005.
There is also a label from the law firm of "Venable, Baetjer & Howard, 2 Hopkins Plaza, Baltimore, Maryland 21201."
Size: Frame: 13 1/8" W x 14 1/4" H. There is very minor damage to the right side of this frame.
